September Topic: Ideas for Making Cleveland Greater Faster!

Where: Quicken Loans Arena, 1 Center Court Cleveland, OH 44115

When: Tuesday, October 2, 2012 @6:00pm

Must be selected as a participant to attend. Details below.

Every month Bizdom holds an invitation-only contest to find the best new business ideas in Northeast Ohio. Coming up with an idea for "The Next New Thing" isn't about thinking outside the box. It's about burning the box!

This month we're not just focusing on business ideas. We're interested in ALL ideas that will help Cleveland's transformation. Have an idea that can help benefit Cleveland? This is the time to make Cleveland greater faster and we're looking for ideas that can ignite a swifter transformation. No idea is too big or too small…WE WANT TO HEAR THEM ALL.

What's in it for you: Attendees include handpicked subject matter experts, community leaders and investors who want to make change happen in Cleveland. If your idea rocks you'll receive 2 hours of Bizdom coaching AND may be invited to present your idea to the Bizdom Seed Funding Committee for a chance to participate in the Bizdom Accelerator.

INTERESTED IN PRESENTING AN IDEA? Email us a short paragraph about your idea(s) by Wednesday, September 26, 2012, for a chance to be selected to participate in this month's NEXT NEW THING CHALLENGE.

Email: clevelandinfo@bizdom.com

But there's a catch: Your idea must be just an idea. You cannot present a working demo or prototype. You can use drawings or models but we really want you to pour your energy into the idea, explore its feasibility, competition, and the business or funding model behind it.

MORE ON THIS MONTH'S CHALLENGE

This month we're exploring ideas that can fundamentally change the environment in Cleveland in a big way. Think about ways to dramatically improve schools, create more jobs, attract more entrepreneurs, improve nightlight and daylife, bring communities together, beautify the streets, distinguish the City as a national treasure, play to our strengths, increase tourism, and so on. Think about small business opportunities, big business opportunities, nonprofit opportunities. Get creative. Get crazy. Shake things up. Change the game! The sky's the limit.

TIPS

  • Think of an idea that's radically better than what currently exists.
  • Do some research and be knowledgeable about what currently exists.
  • Ask yourself whether your idea is something people MUST HAVE!
