Brooklyn Pickup Soccer

• Send $4-$6 by 6am Saturday for the permit ($2-$4 if you are sub). NO REFUNDS. You can pay cash but make sure you arrive at the field by 7:45am.
• Turf shoes or flats ONLY. If you come with cleats, you will NOT play.
• Arrive by 7:45am. Game starts at 8:00AM SHARRRRPPPPP.
• Pinnies will be given out at 7:50AM. If you arrive after pinnies have been handed out, you will lose your spot*.*
• If you arrive after pinnies have been given out & you have not lost your spot to a waitlist player, you will play keeper for your first 15min.
• Game ends AT 10am (we do 2-4 water breaks).
• If you cannot make it to the game, please change your status to ‘NOT GOING’ by Friday 10:00pm (6am Saturday the latest). This will give waitlist players ample notification time to see that they’re in the game.
• If you’re on the waitlist, check the RSVP list until 7:01am Saturday in case you get in. If you can’t make it, PLEASE change your waitlist status to ‘NOT GOING’ by Friday 11:00pm (6am Saturday the latest).
• If you are a no-show, or change your RSVP to ‘NO’ after 6am Saturday, or leave the game before it ends, you will be suspended for 1 month OR 2 games (you must be on the RSVP list on Wednesday for 2 games to serve the suspension).
• Suspension for inclement weather is 6 weeks OR 3 games.
• If you’re new to this group, make sure to confirm your attendance by sending a message to Samson by Friday 8pm (check your meetup msgs).

For those that pay BEFORE 6am Saturday :
if you come late & a waitlist player has taken your spot, you will be able to get your spot back 30min after kickoff OR 30min AFTER YOU ARRIVE (if you arrive after kickoff).

For those that pay AFTER 6am Saturday :
if you come late & a waitlist player has taken your spot, you have lost your spot & the $ you sent can be used for your next game. NO REFUNDS!

If you arrive after pinnies have been given out & you have not lost your spot to a waitlist player, you will play keeper for your first 15min.

I urge that everyone arrive on time. If you arrive late & haven’t paid before the deadline, whoever is there before you will take your spot. No exceptions. Even if they are not on the list and you are marked as attending. If you are not there when the pinnies are being handed out, you risk the chance of losing your spot to whoever is there before you.
I hope you understand this policy is intended to get us started on time and not waiting around for people.

Sign up opens on Wednesday night at 8pm, so be quick on the trigger.

• 9 versus 9

• Turf or flat shoes only (NO cleats)

• Dark & white shirts OR Red & Neon Green shirts (our bib colors are RED & NEON GREEN)

• Great attitude

Thanks

THE GAME

Informal Meet Up. 8 vs 8, no subs.

This game is ideally for intermediate to advanced players, NOT for beginners.

RSVP opens on Wednesday 8:30am and closes Friday 9pm

We finish at 9.45am - If you plan to leave earlier, then don't sign-up. If you get injured, go in goals

RSVP GUIDELINES. IMPORTANT:

We've had issues with folks signing up and not turning up for the game. Therefore, we have implemented the following rules:

• Priority will be given to regulars

• If you're not a regular, please message me to confirm you'll be playing. If there is no message and I can't message you either, then you'll be taken off the list

• If you RSVP and don't show, you'll be benched from this group for the next 4 weeks. Do it twice, permanent ban.

• If you can't make it, then change your RSVP well BEFORE Friday 9pm to give enough notice for anyone on the waitlist. Changing your RSVP after 9pm will not update the top 16 and will also mean a 4 weeks ban. Repeat offenders will be permanently banned

• It is your responsibility to check on Friday after 9pm to see if you've made the top 16.

• If you're on the waitlist and have no intention of playing, please change your RSVP to NO to give others a chance.

• If someone drops out from the top 16 after Friday 9pm and you want to play, then please message the board to get the spot. No priority will be given to the waitlist at this point.

• If you turn up late and the game has already started with 16 players, then you won't play.

Absolutely no exceptions to these rules.

PLAY GUIDELINES

• No slide tackles.

• Respect your teammates and opponents.

• If you fight, you will be banned from the group, permanently.

• If you dribble more than you pass - you annoy everybody and will be banned from the group.

POSITIONS:

Being a pick up game, there are no permanent positions. If you've been playing forward for half the game and someone who's been playing the back line wants to play up front, give up your position and play some defense. When your team lose the ball, don't just stand and watch. Please support your teammates by get back on your side and play some defense.

Thanks.
