What we’re about

Blue Economics is a volunteer organization that strives for economic development in impoverished communities through strategic capacity building. The broadest definition of capacity building is aiding individuals and institutions by solving inefficiencies and breaking barriers that prevent individuals and communities realize all their economic opportunities.

We are a group of talented and passionate fulltime professionals from diverse backgrounds including finance, marketing, media, education, non profits, technology, PR, photography, journalism art and design. Team members volunteer their expertise from their backgrounds in Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, JP Morgan, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, Ogilvy, Johns Hopkins, Columbia University, NYU, Parsons and others to  the singular goal of lifting people up economically.

All are welcome and there are no requirements or commitments to join. We meet weekly for a drink near penn station to go over our projects. Members can also google+ video chat in as well.

We are currently working on a project to develop a website for NYC that would provide education and video classes on workforce development, small business training and credit and loan opportunities. We are working with an established Economic Development firm in the South Bronx named SOBRO. Their website is below. The current progress of the project as well as our temporary website is also below:
