Arrangments have been made to dive with Discovery Diving in Beaufort. Beaufort is just a few minutes north from Moorehead City, and it is about a 5 1/2 hour ride from Hickory. We have lined up some great dives for both weekends and hope to see alot of you make the trip!
July 20 & 21, 2013
There will be 2 dives on Saturday, one on the Spar and one dive on the Hutton/Ario. Sunday with two dives, one on the Caribsea and one dive on the Ashkhabad. We have been given 12 slots (don't hesitate to reserve yours). All members, family, and friends who like to dive will be welcome to join. The Spar is well known for having Sand Tiger Sharks and if you have never seen one ,well, mouth full of teeth but really docile and you can get close, but please don't touch... its a shark!!!
September 14 & 15, 2013
There will be a 2 dives on Saturday one on the U352 and one dive on the Papoose. Sunday with two dives one on the Spar and one dive on the Schurz. Keep in mind some of these dives are relatively deep, and prior training or experience are a must.The U352 is known as a “must” dive in this area and very well known. Don't wait only 8 spots left at this time.
Both Weekends
We also have bunkhouse beds (bit like a dorm) reserved for $20 a person. Think of it as a crash pad but it is a house with two floors so we should be able (I hope) to put the men on one floor and the women on the other floor. Other accommodations are available next door for a few more bucks.
Both weekends we will meet at Discovery @ 6:45 on Saturday and Sunday as long as we have the waivers signed and a copy of everyone's C card ready. Bring a lunch and snack to tie you over until we return.
For those who are working on their Advance Open Water, this will provide you with the possibility of getting several required dives in. Or work on some Specialty Certifications. Call Scuba Adventures regarding your AOW...!
