Gourmet Holiday Cooking with Russ Crandall, the Domestic Man

** UPDATED 11/8/13

We're super excited to have Russ Crandall (The Domestic Man) give a cooking demonstration at our December MeetUp to explain the intricacies of cooking gourmet Paleo food - especially as we get ready for Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Years. This will be the last event of the year, so it's going to be extra special!

Event #1: 1pm - 2:30pm; If you're interested in learning about gourmet food preparation and cooking, then please attend the first half of this event. For $10/per person (to cover the cost of groceries and supplies), Russ will be roasting a ham (with honey/citrus glaze) and preparing two side dishes (collard greens and parsnip puree).

Event #2: 2:30pm - 4pm; Holiday social and potluck. After the cooking demonstration wraps up, we'll have 90-minutes of social time to kick-back, share food, and celebrate the year. Please bring a side dish (anything but collard greens and parsnip puree) with enough food to serve 8-10 people. And, post what you're bringing in the comments below, so that we don't duplicate any dishes.

The address of the event will be available from me a week out from the party. The house is in the Phoenix/Jacksonville area, though. And, we need to limit the event to 30 people, so please RSVP and include the number of guests you will bring.

If you want to learn more about Russ, please visit his website: http://thedomesticman.com/

Any other questions, feel free to contact me. And, THANK YOU, to everyone who's joined this group and is working toward a healthier lifestyle by choosing Paleo. It's been a great year...but there's so much more great stuff about to launch in 2014!

Russ's holiday meal with Citrus glazed ham was amazing.
We were lucky to get a personal preview of his upcoming cookbook called "The Ancestral Table" due out Feb 11,2014!
Also, check out the holiday issue of People Magazine that features Russ and this very recipe.

Jen - Are you saying that you won't be at any of the events this month?? We've got a lot of great things on the calendar now. If not, I hope you can at least make Russ' cooking class. :)

Wow been reading Russ stuff for a few years now and would love to meet and cook with him. I live in middletown MD and have a huge kitchen which has been paleo for over two years. I could host this but don't know if people would be willing to come out to the country for it (I can get to BWI in about 45minutes)
Ps wife and I have both been paleo for over 2 years loving every minute of it!

Ted - I appreciate you offering your kitchen and we should definitely use it as a resource some time. I will try and plan the event for the western side of Baltimore, probably Ellicott City, to make the commute easier for you.
Most of the group members are from the I-95 corridor (Bel Air to Annapolis) so hosting this MeetUp in Middletown might be a little too far away. Let me know what you'd like to host in 2014 and we'll start planning now. Thanks!!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
