Board & Card Games Marathon @ West LA

Get ready to play some board games! This is an all-day event, so feel free to come for all, most, some, or part of the day.

There will be TONS of board games & card games to choose from - and you're welcome to bring your own. We'll have game captains on hand to lead games, introduce members, and explain rules, so don't worry if you haven't heard any of these games. Part of the fun is learning! Board games are a great "thinking person's relaxation" and offer much funny and odd fodder for conversation.

WHO?
This event is great for newcomers and veterans alike. Meet some new friends, bring a friend or three if you like, and get ready to have some fun! IT'S OKAY TO "JUST SHOW UP"!

TIME?
The event starts at NOON and goes til 9 PM. There will be a prize drawing at 5 PM and we'll round out the evening with a large game of Werewolf.

COST?
$10 adults, $5 for kids 12 and under.

GAMES?
There's more to games than Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit! Some of the best games you've never heard of come from European and small press American companies.

Some games you might play:
7 Wonders - From humble beginnings, expand your ancient civilization through trade, science, military might, and wonders that will stand the test of time.
Last Night on Earth - A survival horror game that pits small-town heroes against an unstoppable horde of zombies.
Cartagena - Pirates are busting out of their prison fortress. First to escape wins!
Power Grid - Bring power to your network of cities by shrewdly purchasing power plants, raw materials, and electrical connections.
Poison - One at a time, potions are added to the cauldron. Be careful not to cause a boil over and ruin the concoction... and watch out for other players poisoning the pot!
Moods - Take turns acting out a secret "mood," and see who can correctly identify your emotion. Are you "dazed," "zany," "sneaky," or "romantic"?

We'll have all these and 50+ more to try. And feel free to bring your own games to share!

ANYTHING ELSE?
There are plenty of places to grab food nearby. People tend to get dinner between 5 and 6 (after the prizes and before werewolf). We will have some snacks for sale on site: soda, water, chips, and candy.
