Introduction

Hi, I'm Wilford - I moved to LA about a year ago, but I haven't been able to find a lot of events that I'm into. So trying this out to meet people with similar interests, or at least have a good time.

What's your favorite board game(s)?

Strategy games, mostly - Settlers of Catan and Dominion spring to mind, but I suppose that's a bad sample, seeing as I do very much like conflict-oriented games. Outside of boardgames, Magic: The Gathering and The Battle for Wesnoth are particular favorites of mine (I figure there's a boardgame for any interests?). I'm not much of a fan of anything real-time based, board-game-wise.

Hi Wilford/Nil, and welcome to our games group. We have our huge year end games day (~50 people) Dec 8 from noon to nine. Have you tried SMASH UP, SMALLWORLD, or DUNGEON COMMAND? Neat MTG-esque customizable conflict games. Also check out THUNDERSTONE and ASCENSION, which are deckbuilders with clever synergies. We look forward to gaming with you soon!
