Gaming in the Meadows (Altona Meadows)

A return to one of the past homes of ConVic with a 14 hour friendly game-a-thon in Altona Meadows in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

Yep, I can confirm we're on for Saturday 2 August 2014, 10am - midnight, at the spacious, bright Laverton Bowls Club. Cost: $5 (U14 kids free)

Some friendly gaming, a couple of competitions (Zombie Dice, Crokinole, Pitchcar) possibly a kick around with the Subbuteo soccer ball in memory of the World Cup and a frantic 15 minutes of trading and selling of games.

Plenty of euros, strategy games, kid's games and war games.

The Laverton Lawn Bowls club rooms is bright, spacious and tidy. Plenty of off street parking available.

Drinks: We have a open bar (no BYO) with reasonably priced drinks available throughout the night. Tea and coffee will be available.

Food: Snacks available, but we also have the five basic food groups (KFC, McDonald's, Subway, Hungry Jacks, Red Rooster) a couple of minutes drive away. There's also a dozen other options, with many offering delivery. I'll have menus available on the day.

Includes Special Events:
Zombie Dice: Mini Tournament - rounds played after 10.15am, final midday
Crokinole: Mini Tournament - throughout the day
Subbuteo: Exhibition (all day) and possible tournament in the later afternoon

Thanks everyone for supporting Gaming in the Meadows! We had around 65 people come along throughout the (very long) day. Great venue. Next time I'll hand over some of the events to others to run, although it's difficult to interrupt people in the middle of games to be involved. Looking forward to one (or even two) events next winter at the same venue.

The single day worked well. For me, 20 mins from Windsor across the bridge is about the same to Mt. Waverley. De-icing the car was another unexpected joy that I don't think I have done in the past 20 years in the city.

Had a good time today. THANK YOU ADAM. Had to leave when I did, Buster needed walking. I have been working 12 hour days. He now has one of those flashy light thingy's so that I can let him run in the park in the dark, what a lark! (couldn't help myself)

As I write this I realize many of you will still be playing. Enjoy.

I'll be looking for someone to let me in on their game. Hoping to be there between 10 and 11. I would like to know if anyone else thinks that they're coming? ,,,,,,ooooo,,,,sorry, just cold not help myself. "THEIR" "There" and "THEY'RE" in three sentences! (and they said that I was illiterate)

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday. Even managed to get some prizes for the mini-tournaments on the day! Looks like pretty cold weather, so perfect for 14 hours of gaming straight.

Hi Carol, all games will be welcome on the day. You just need to bring ordinary games and they'll get played. We should have everything from table soccer, Crokinole, euros, strategy, party and Ameritrash getting played on the day/night.

"open bar with reasonable prices"... I'm guessing it should read "bar will be open with reasonable prices" :D Jokes aside, sounds good.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
