Do we have a free will?

I have never read a definition of free will I considered plausible; all of our behaviors are influenced by our learning history and genetics but we do have the ability to make some sort of choice in regards to behavior. My favorite quote about this issue is from one of my psychology professors: "As a human I have to believe in free will, as a scientist I cannot".

Are you religious, agnostic, atheistic etc? What do you believe? A) How does your belief shape your world/philosophical view? B) How do you view scripture/revelation? C) What is your opinion on evolution?

I am an atheist, this means that I do not believe that religious viewpoints should have any bearing on decisions of acceptable human behavior, I view scripture as man's attempt to understand the world and I believe in evolution.

Do the ends justify the means? If yes, why? If not, why not?

Some ends justify some means; in certain cases morally deplorable behavior is required in order to prevent a worse outcome.

What is your political orientation (far left, left, center, right, far right…libertarian, apolitical etc.)

I am socially essentially libertarian and economically moderate.

Have you ever stabbed somebody with a fork just because he/she didn’t agree with you?

No, no I have not.

I am a hedonistic and idealistic nihilist.
