Holiday Mixer / Year in Review / Fun Times

Come one come all!!! Rather than have a single book topic for this meeting, I'm thinking we can all get together and have a nice night chatting about the books we've read this past year, books we love in general, and books we want to read in 2014. Of course while sipping drinks of choice. No RSVP limit!

I have a few things planned, such as mystery book exchange! Ala a white elephant, but maybe something you would want someone to actually read versus a gag book. But either way works. :-) Additional details to follow.

This will also be what I'm calling a "Pass the Hat " meeting for the club's Meetup dues. Meetup charges Organizers $144 a year. Knowing this, quite a few people have asked if they could donate over the past year or so to this fee. Rather than trying to collect money at each meeting, which is what many groups do, I'm just going to ask this month for donations. I setup the meeting so that people can opt to donate via Paypal, or if you have a blood feud with that evil corporation, donations can be made at the meeting in person to me. Either way, EVERY PENNY (minus service fees) will go directly to the club account, which I will open up so that everyone can see. If we collect more than the $144, the remainder will be on account for future payments, all visible to the group.
