A Walk in the Woods, by Bill Bryson - Meeting #1

Book club member Scott has offered to host this book he found to be funny and entertaining. Here is the description from Amazon:

:The Appalachian Trail trail stretches from Georgia to Maine and covers some of the most breathtaking terrain in America–majestic mountains, silent forests, sparking lakes. If you’re going to take a hike, it’s probably the place to go. And Bill Bryson is surely the most entertaing guide you’ll find. He introduces us to the history and ecology of the trail and to some of the other hardy (or just foolhardy) folks he meets along the way–and a couple of bears. Already a classic, A Walk in the Woods will make you long for the great outdoors (or at least a comfortable chair to sit and read in)."

Isn't this Cinco de Mayo Day? Could Wine Styles have some Hispanic wine? Or should we all bring tequila chasers and Mexican food?

I could host a second group on the same evening, at 7 PM.

    Hi Lynn.
It's usually about 10-12 people so everyone has a chance to contribute. I fairly new myself but from what I've seen it's usually in a public place such as a restaurant. Just E-mail Steve if you want to host and he'll ask you the three questions of the bridge of death. If you are deemed worthy you will allowed to proceed.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this meetup and now that I see there's a waiting list am wondering, what is the size limit for each meeting (or ideal size)? How long ahead of time should people who want to host choose a book and schedule a date? Is it always in a public venue or are some at home? Thanks.
