Graham Hobart has seen the Photographic Industry go through many changes in the more than a quarter of a century since he became a commercial photographer. Just as a concert pianist has to practice regularly Graham Hobart has been faithful in pursuing artistic expression by sculpting, painting and generally staying close to the Arts.

In recent years Graham has become one of the world’s leading photographers in the genre of Infrared Photography Wildlife Photography. His debut exhibition titled “AFRICA -In a Different Light” was hosted by National Geographic in London in 2012. He is in demand all over the USA to speak on topics ranging from shooting wildlife to learning howto separate yourself from the competition and develop a personal style.

In his early years Graham Hobart was awestruck by the talents of the great photographers. He spent years pouring over magazine articles and photography “How-to” books trying to discover their secrets in the hope of one day being as successful. It took years of hard work and dedication to master his camera but the toughest lesson was yet to come.

Graham spent years achieving a reputation of doing superb special effects in-camera as well as in the darkroom on large format transparencies but having something to say and then knowing how to express it was one of the toughest journeys of his professional career. Now he has chosen to share what he has learned to encourage others to take that same path.

Before showing some of his infrared wildlife work which also includes a short film Graham Hobart will take you on a brief visual journey through his early images and show the path that led to where he is today.

He will also discuss his thoughts and ideas that will help you develop an individual style. This will enable you to not only stand out and be noticed but more importantly be heard as you develop your own visual voice. This is a much needed topic that comes at a time when mediocre, generic copycat images are all too often the norm.
