We are really amazed at the turnout so far for this event. Even if only half of you actually make it to the event this would be quite a showing. Mariko originally said that I--the designated Host for the event--would try and get a table for the members of the group. Clearly that will not be feasible given the numbers and the fact that this is a jazz/performance venue. Also it is not clear what kind of fan base her group will attract since she was a student at Berklee College of Music before.
What I will do is wear my large "Boston Cultural Nomads--Meetup button" and have a printout of everyone who is still listed as attending. (Also I still pretty much look like my picture!!) If you decide at the last minute not to attend, please send us a message to that effect and change your status online. Then we can take advantage of intermissions or whatever kinds of breaks they take to bring people together. I have never attended a CD Release party so I don't know exactly what to expect--except that Sumie's group looks very interesting and very talented. And Ryles is a very pleasant venue.
I will try and arrive by 8:45 and see if anyone is there before going in and finding seating.
It looks like a fascinating event and the Nomads signed up so far comprise quite an amazing and diverse group.
See you there.
