Details

The entrance is on Devonshire Street, next to the People's Bank. You need to RSVP to be included on the Guest List, and bring a valid ID, for security to let you in.

Learn the basics of web application testing, starting with manually scanning, and finishing with automated scanning. The intended audience is: new pen-testers, sysadmins, and developers.

Schedule:

  • install and configure Railsgoat

  • setup Burpsuite proxy

  • manually scan the site with Burpsuite

  • use Burpsuite: intercept, decoder, repeater

  • create Bash scripts: sqlmap, xsser, curl, regex, xmlint

  • install and configure Gauntlt

  • create Gauntlt scripts

You will be expected to have a working installation of Kali Linux 1.1.0-64bit, either in a virtual machine, or running natively. I have created video tutorials to show how to install on Windows 7 or Mac 10.10, into Virtualbox:

Windows Install:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ug7cR-4lWGI

Mac Install:

I will not spend time helping you setup your environment. Having a running system before you attend is the minimum technical bar.

Cheaper parking is available at the Post Office Square Garage, a $9 flat rate after 4 pm.
