Huge Data Migrations to Riak Made Easy(er)

Hi everyone,

For our next meetup, we're pleased to present Wes Jossey, Sr. Software Engineer at Tapjoy, to discuss how Tapjoy made the migration process to Riak as easy as possible. If you've been curious about Riak for some time, but find the process of switching over datastores without incurring any downtime an intimidating prospect, this meetup is not to be missed.

As always, arrive promptly around 6:45 - 7:00, bring your friends and your hard questions. Food and refreshments to be provided by Basho. Look forward to seeing you there, and thanks for being a part of Riak.

Huge Data Migrations to Riak Made Easy(er)

Sr. Software Engineer, Tapjoy

Let's face it, data migration is hard. When you've got a lean budget, zero downtime requirements, terabytes of data, and billions of objects, it certainly doesn't make the problem any easier. Add on to that a short delivery cycle, and you've practically got a nightmare. But, with the help of some off the shelf ruby gems, and some thrifty usage of EC2, you too can migrate to Riak much faster than you ever anticipated for very little cost.

A simple Harpoon UFO will suffice if no Trappist Westvleteren is available.
