Harmonix (http://www.harmonixmusic.com/) joins the Boston VR Meetup to present lessons learned in developing their first VR title Harmonix Music VR. Harmonix Music VR is a category-defining virtual reality music visualizer for Samsung's Gear VR that transports you to brand new worlds within your music. Journey from familiar settings into musically reactive dreamscapes that evolve based on data from your music library. Taking advantage of the strengths of this new medium, Harmonix Music VR connects you to your music in new ways through immersion in fantastical environments that react with unparalleled musical synchronicity. The experience ranges from calm to breathtaking, but is always pleasant and accessible, geared towards first time VR users.

SensoMotoric Instruments (http://www.smivision.com/en/gaze-and-eye-tracking-systems/products/eye-tracking-hmd-upgrade.html) (SMI) offers the world’s first eye tracking upgrade package for the Oculus Rift DK2 virtual reality headset. Adding SMI’s leading mobile eye tracking technology provides new possibilities for scientists, VR developers and application providers. SMI integrated eye tracking in the Oculus Rift DK 2 even works calibrationless allowing for instant gaze interaction, personalized vision calibration and fully immersive visual perception analysis. The SMI package comes with a C/C++ SDK. This makes all important eye and gaze data available in real-time, such as eye position and eye to screen distance. SMI supports integration into a broad range of VR-solutions, e.g. in the WorldViz Vizard VR engine - even with integrated motion tracking - or in Unity, another commonly used platform to create 3D content.

We will also have many VR demonstrations from our talented group of VR developers. If you haven't yet had the opportunity to try the Oculus Rift DK2 this is a perfect opportunity. If you have a VR demo you'd like to show let us know!
