Welcome! This group is for those in Boston who like to play strategy (and slightly silly) games and be social at the same time. It is perhaps easiest to break this down word by word:

Strategy games: We will not be playing Apples to Apples, LCR, or even Monopoly here. Instead, the gaming focus of this group will be on strategy games, games that make you think and plan ahead, such as Ticket to Ride, Dominion, Puerto Rico, Settlers of Catan, Power Grid, Agricola, and many more. Of course, we don't expect that you know how to play all these games; we will always welcome newcomers and will sometimes be learning these games ourselves for the first time.

Slightly silly games: Munchkin, Killer Bunnies, and Fluxx are examples of "slightly silly" games. Do note that there's still strategy involved, but we certainly welcome games that make us laugh while we're playing!

Social: To be clear, this group will be as much about the gaming as the social interaction, which is why it's different from other such groups in Boston. But if you see the person next to you as simply someone to beat and nothing more, then this is not the group for you.

From the gaming groups I've been to (and run), there is a clear set of gamers in the Boston area who very much like these types of games, and who like the idea of possibly forming friendships with their fellow players, and that's who I'm looking for!  If you think you'd like this kind of interaction, sign up and come to one of our events.
