How Startup Marketing and Sales Can Work Together

Ah, the relationship between marketing and sales. Whether the two departments are in a close, symbiotic relationship with perfect alignment or mortal enemies, the two must work together for any B2B startup to succeed.

Matthew Bellows, the CEO of Yesware will present his view of what sales needs to succeed, how marketing can fuel that success, and how the two can work together to dominate.

I would like to meet more marketing professionals. My work is in engineering, I create content and I need to do a better job at selling it. Specifically I have developed a new fastening technology called the wave thread that will make nuts and bolts; pipes or any mechanical threaded product stronger. It does it in the way it distributes stress. The wave thread is total surface contact. This creates a seal which prevents corrosion, remember the Boston water mains broke because the bolts rusted. The wave thread is total surface contact. Other side benefit are it conducts heat and vibration efficiently making it highly resistant to vibrational loosening. My testing has been around nuts and bolts because they are so standardized and it is easy to show why the wave thread is better. Fasteners and connections are everywhere, the challenge is to find and fill the need for better ones.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
