Sol y Canto - Sabor y Memoria
Saturday, February 13, 2010 - Two Shows!
7pm & 9:30pm (Cafe Seating)

A Latin Musical Feast of Flavor & Memory

featuring Sol y Canto

Spice up your Valentine's Eve with this musical feast that takes you from appetizer to dessert, blending Latin genres the way a chef blends flavors! This is the only New England preview before the World Premiere of these three-time Boston Music Award-winners newest work! Composer and MacDowell Fellow Brian Amador?s newest multi-media, pan-Latin musical suite is about a favorite topic - food! Performed by Latin roots ensemble Sol y Canto and strings, Sabor y Memoria (Flavor and Memory) touches on issues of memory and nostalgia for one?s home country, immigration, hunger, cooking, and of course, chocolate!

Both the 7pm and 9:30pm show will include a preview of this new performance based entirely on food, where each movement is the ?dish? of an imaginary meal, with short ?appetizers? in between.

Two shows with caf? seating, plus delectable food from A Hot Dish catering, and beer & wine to sip at your table!

Thanks to fair trade organizations, Taza Chocolate and Equal Exchange, the evening will include chocolate tasting, and chocolate bars available to purchase!
