DESCRIPTION:
In this MEET-UP we will focus on adding singing and 'vocal play' to our cello improvisations. We'll warm-up with exercises and 'games' to strengthen the voice and then explore ways to turn simple songs into 'scat'. To accompany our singing and scatting, we'll add some rhythmic, harmonic and melodic improvisation on the cello. Something for everyone!

SCHEDULE:

MOLLY - NEW MODERATOR'S BIO:
Molly taught vocal, choral and general music for over 30 years in Colorado, mostly Jefferson County. She started in middle and high school and moved on to elementary and college. As an Orff teacher, she has a keen interest in developing musical skills through movement, speech, improvisation and play. Her musical interests began with church and folk music and expanded to classical, jazz, world music and more. When Molly reWired from teaching in the classroom, she took up the cello. Thanks to the BOULDER CELLO PROJECT and it's many talented directors and teachers, she has been able to expand her musical interests and skills AND play with others!
"Keep stretching. Keep making all kinds of music with all kinds of people!" ~Molly
