Join us for a backcountry ski to Hidden Valley in Rocky Mountain National Park. Hidden Valley has a huge wide open bowl that offers great skiing with big turns. There is also a fun "powdershot" run down through the trees that is always loaded with deep powder. The ski to the top of the bowl is about 2 miles with 2,000 ft of gain.
If you are skiing, you will want skins to get up the hill. Snowshoers are welcome to join the fun and laugh at the skiers faceplanting. Sadly, doggies cannot come because of National Park rules.
All the slopes we will ski are less than 25 degrees so avalanche risk is minimal. If you have an avalanche beacon then bring it, the safer the better. However, since we are skiing low angle slopes, beacons are not required.
We will meet on Sunday, January 29th at 9:00 AM at the Alfalfa's market on Broadway and Arapahoe in Boulder. You can park all day in the City of Boulder lot across the street (north) from Alfalfa's. You can call me at [masked] if you have any questions.
