The Top 7 Things I've Learned (The Hard Way) about Running a Business

Join us for a presentation on entrepreneurship from Jack Jostes, the Internet Marketing Director at Ramblin Jackson, a web marketing + video production company in Boulder, CO.

Jack founded Ramblin Jackson in 2009 as a sole proprietor offering copywriting + social media consulting, and in 2011 merged with Mountain Media Productions, a video production company, to partner with Chris Woodley in creating Ramblin Jackson, Inc. In addition to earning his bachelor’s degree from Marquette University, Jack completed the Google Analytics Individual Qualification (IQ) program and was recently nominated a Constant Contact Authorized Local Expert. In June of 2013, Ramblin Jackson acquired Trumpet Local Media, a Local Search Marketing firm, to evolve into a full service web marketing + video production company.

When he’s not helping small businesses with Internet marketing, Jack enjoys fly fishing for trout and playing mandolin in a country bluegrass band called The Larks. He lives in Lyons, CO with his lovely wife and a great big hairy dog named Ralph.

As co-founder and principal of Catapult, Murrel is a hands-on leader with proven expertise in executing the strategic and tactical aspects of multi-dimensional public relations campaigns. By properly packaging client news for maximum editorial and analyst coverage, Murrel has developed a strong network of media contacts in IT, telecommunications, wireless, enterprise software, manufacturing and e-commerce.

A quick bio: a world traveler, microbrew drinker and, more recently, aerospace engineer.

Some info about the company: Bombproof was born out of exasperation. How to keep a beer? You can reseal wine, even champagne. But beer? It just gets poured out. Since both the co-founder (Ian Moore) and I are aerospace engineers, we came together to design a beer bottle opener/sealer, Bombproof. The company, FullThrottle, is developing this bottle opener/sealer for the discriminating beer drinkers who desire to re-seal their bottles for later delicious consumption. No pumping or other silliness. Open, drink, seal. Currently, we are bootstrapping and are looking for investment and contacts in the beer industry.
