Myka McLaughlin Bio

I left home when I was fifteen and moved to NYC alone. I've always had great gusto to create a dynamic life I love. For the next seven years, I built a six-figure business with revenue in a dozen countries. I learned how to run my business from a husband and wife team on Wall Street. They were my first business mentors, after my father, who was also a tried and true solopreneur.

I graduated with distinction studying economics and international affairs. Since then, I did financial analysis for $180M of renewable energy grants awarded by the US Department of Energy; co-founded a university research center funded by the European Union; and ran the multiple six-figure business of one of the world's most renowned negotiators. I helped double his income in the first year.

On the business side, I have studied with phenomenally smart, experienced, and heartfelt women, who are experts at building successful businesses in the 21st century. I've invested hundreds of hours reading business books; multiple five-figures on training programs with these savvy women entrepreneurs; and a thousand+ hours implementing it all in WINC.

When I made the leap from building WINC part-time to building WINC full-time, it felt like stepping off a financial cliff. And the only way I was going to get to wake up every day and do what I am madly in love with – work with you to create your wealth alongside other amazing women – was if I fricking made money. Period.

In that high stakes moment, I had to get crystal clear on generating revenue doing what I love. I developed a step-by-step system that was laser focused on revenue creating tasks, because I not only had to generate revenue, I had to do it now. And it worked.

Rob Slowinski Bio

Rob Slowinski is one of two Groundwork co-founders. After earning a Masters Degree in Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder, he spent seven years working in green building consulting, dealing with large and small teams and a wide range of clients and project types. In fact, the Groundwork concept itself was born out of some rather experiential green building workshops he helped facilitate within the engineering realm. Rob completed his MBA at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2012 with a focus on Entrepreneurship, and he currently works out of Impact HUB Boulder. He has ample experience with languages (Portuguese and Spanish), DIY anything, the outdoors, photography, and he plays a little bit of upright bass.

Company Bio:

Groundwork is an experiential hiring consultancy founded on the idea that when hiring a new employee, many mission-critical skills are simply impossible to uncover using a traditional job interview. Groundwork designs fun, interactive workshops intended to reveal the specific skills and competencies our clients are looking for in their next great hire. Using design thinking and game theory, we show who works well in a team, holds up under pressure, takes the initiative or thrives under changing conditions.

We customize our half- and full-day workshops based on a company’s culture and core values. Whether our clients need adaptability, collaboration, leadership, creativity or something else entirely, Groundwork creates the arena for them to observe, engage and select the perfect new hire. Join us as we redesign the job interview.

Food at The Riverside is going to provide a taco, beer and wine cash bar after the meetup on Boulder's Best Patio on Boulder Creek. The taco bar will be $5.00. Plan to mingle afterwards on the patio with food and drinks.
