Change Coming for the Bozeman Climate Alliance

Dear Bozeman Climate Alliance Members,

Now that we've been working on this group for awhile, we're going to expand and get more active. To go along with that, some (hopefully welcome) changes are coming.

First, starting on May 22, the Bozeman Climate Alliance will begin holding monthly meetings for its members and the public. The first meeting, which will be in the Bozeman City Hall Commission Room, will be advertised starting next week.

The purpose of the meetings are threefold:

  1. to get to know other people who share our concerns about global warming (surprising things can happen by the mere act of socializing around shared interests; in fact that's how this group got started.)
  2. to develop a better understanding of the crisis and the issues around it.
  3. to create a platform for action to address climate change, which makes it easy for us to participate in addressing the issue in a meaningful, productive, and edifying way.

The first meeting will discuss these goals in greater detail, and we're going to make it both a good and interesting time. More on that later.

We've created flyers for the event, which you can download here, and here. We'll be grateful for any help you're willing to provide in distributing these.

We'll post more about the meeting in the next two weeks.

Second, we're changing the way we send event alerts. Presently, separate alerts are sent to your email for every event posted here. This is cumbersome because we post lots of events. So, from now on, for events which aren't hosted by the Bozeman Climate Alliance, we'll send out a weekly email on Sundays which summarize the coming week's events, to spare your inbox.

Separate alerts will be sent for news pertaining to, and events hosted by, the Bozeman Climate Alliance.

Finally, we've secured some funding for this group and hope to secure more in the future, possibly even becoming a 501c3. If you're interested in participating organizationally in the growth of this group, email me, Nick Bentley ([address removed]), or just write to the organizers of this group through the meetup page.

Many Humongous Thanks,
