Would anyone like to host a watch party on October 22 for 24 Hours of Reality, 24 hours of internet video featuring scientists, activists, and activities from around the world speaking about climate change? This is an annual event by Al Gore's Climate Reality organization that gets social media on fire with tweets and facebook. This year's theme is The Cost of Carbon.
If you're interested, you can schedule a meetup yourself or contact Kristen at [address removed].
Here's how to sign up individually:
In less than three weeks, we'll be hosting the largest-ever conversation on carbon pollution: 24 Hours of Reality: The Cost of Carbon.
Because of your generous support in the past, I hope you saw our founder and chairman, Al Gore, announce the program last week. But as of today it doesn't look like we have your RSVP for October 22-23, 2013. You can change that by clicking here right now.
And once you RSVP today, you'll also be able to play a critical role in this global event with the 24 Hours of Reality Activist Kit we've put together just for our supporters.
Last week, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) released a report that basically says scientists are more certain than ever (95 percent certain, to be exact) that man-made climate change is a reality. And just hours after the report was released, deniers were already hard at work trying to poke holes in the consensus of hundreds of scientists and 195 governments (they certainly had their work cut out for them).
The truth is, these deniers live in the pockets of Big Oil and Big Coal, and they don't like the solution to climate change: putting a market price on carbon pollution and a political price on denial. Well, too bad -- because that's exactly what we're going to do on October 22-23 for the third annual 24 Hours of Reality.
It's also why we've put together this activist kit for you to use from now until October 22. Use this activist kit to:
We have some ambitious goals for this year's event -- including bringing millions of people across the planet together with one shared purpose: to put a price on carbon.
So, thanks for your past support. We hope you'll be joining us and millions of others to work for a solution to climate change on October 22.
Thanks for your help,
The Climate Reality Team
