Brand and agency representatives, startups, mobile innovators and all enthusiasts are welcome. Join us for an evening filled with information and enlightenment, and network with your fellow marketing and startup innovators -- an event you won’t want to miss!
Learn about our Brands+Startups program and hear about the State of Mobile Media from Nielsen Catalina Solutions, Opera Mediaworks, and Pandora Radio. Meet like-minded marketers and entrepreneurs who share your interest in mobile (and are actively looking for ways to tap it for brand and business growth). Plus, learn more about what is in store for Heartland Mobile and how you can get involved.
Our events operate in a safe, no-selling environment where open learning (not sponsorships) informs the discussion. Our focus of the evening will be on the State of Mobile Media, and conducted in a panel format led by Adam Paulisick, SVP of Marketing & Channel Strategies from Nielsen Catalina Solutions. Meet Adam, Kyle, and Barret, and hear their views on the State of Mobile Media today as well as the challenges and opportunities. Also, hear from last year’s winner of the Brands+Startups Challenge, SimpleRelevance. Eric Severinghaus, Founder and CEO, will share his perspective on his Class of 2014 experience.

Senior Vice President, Marketing & Channel Strategies, Nielsen Catalina Solutions (http://www.ncsolutions.com/)
Adam Paulisick is currently the head of marketing and brand at Nielsen Catalina Solutions (NCS), a joint venture between The Nielsen Company and Catalina. In this role, Adam helps advertisers, agencies, and publishers utilize offline purchase data to increase effectiveness throughout online, mobile, print, radio and TV media campaigns. Prior to his time at NCS, Adam served as senior director of commercial operations for Nielsen’s Emerging Media division, where he was responsible for driving growth within Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Prior to this role, Adam led global account planning for Nielsen’s Online and Mobile Media portfolio and was one of the early leaders of the BuzzMetrics team (acquired in 2007 by The Nielsen Company), guiding business development for online word-of-mouth analytics. Adam continues to be active in the early stage venture community as a mentor in domestic and international accelerator programs such as AlphaLab (Pittsburgh), seedcamp (US+Europe), London Techstars (Springboard), and entrepreneurs roundtable accelerator (NYC).
Adam has a degree in Management from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and a minor in Information Systems and Data Structures. He resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he is an Adjunct Professor of Entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business.

Throughout his career, Kyle has built a deep understanding of digital marketing and has proven expertise in strategy, consultation and activation for some of the worlds most iconic brands. As Opera Mediaworks’ Mobile Advertising Evangelist, Kyle is responsible for managing the firm's agency product and industry education iniatives, working closely with the Innnovation team to marry technology and data with proprietary delivery platforms to solve complex advertiser challenges.
Kyle honed his expertise in creative, technology and product marketing during his 4+ year tenure with PointRoll, where he most recently served as the Product Marketing Director. At PointRoll, he spent the majority of his time marrying technology and creative for some of the most recognizable brands such as Ford, Chrysler, Anheuser-Busch, State Farm and Bank of America.
Kyle holds a Bachelors degree in Business Management and Marketing from Millersville University in Pennsylvania. He currently resides in Chicago.

Barret Roberts brings a unique perspective to the panel as he has seen brand marketing from the agency, client and now media partner perspective. Over the last 18 years, Barret has garnered extensive brand planning experience on world-class, global brands such as Gatorade, Axe, Dove and McDonald’s before taking on more client-facing roles at Twitter and most recently Pandora. His expertise has been focused in directing development of leading edge communication strategies and plan execution across all media formats and branded entertainment.

Erik is a Chicago-based serial entrepreneur, intrapreneur, and business leader who is an avid mountain climber, water polo player, Ironman triathlete, skier and adventure seeker. He obtained his MBA in Entrepreneurship at Kellogg School of Business.
As a student at the University of North Carolina, he was part of the founding team for iContact (a leader in email marketing), started and operated MainBrain, a K-12 education software infrastructure company, and helped run a small consulting firm.
After college, Erik took a consulting job at IBM and in six years rose to a position as a Partner in IBM’s IT Optimization Practice. Some of the highlights at IBM include bringing new products to market and acquiring a patent on fundamental cloud computing algorithm. An entrepreneur at heart, Erik left IBM to return to building startups in April of 2011.
