Talks evening: Microservices for Monoliths & An Inappropriate project in Scala

Details
We're kicking off our 2015 season with a couple of talks.
James Burt (http://www.jamesburt.me.uk) will speak about 'Microservices for monoliths'. Even if you're working on big balls of mud or small applications, there are valuable lessons to take from the hype around microservices. James will give an overview of the subject as well as talking about tools including Wiremock and Hystrix.
Danielle Ashley will discuss 'an inappropriate Scala project': What happens when you start your first exploration of Scala by picking one of the most unlikely, unsuitable applications for a language of that type - real-time number crunching - and still end up with kind-of-usable functional code? Reflections and lessons learnt, from a newcomer's point of view.
Doors open at 7pm. Pizza and drinks will be supplied by Brandwatch (http://www.brandwatch.com/). Developers of all levels are welcome. If you have any questions, please contact the group via meetup.com or email james@orbific.com
