BUG 2: Extending Unity Audio
Details
Hi everyone
In a change to this month's scheduled Meetup, Anastasios "Taz" Brakis will talk about Unity audio and how he developed Fabric, a tool that extends Unity's audio functionality to facilitate the creation of complex and rich audio behaviours.
Although the topic is audio, the session should be equally relevant to those of you with an interest in developing Unity plugins.
Anastasios Brakis: Creating AAA Quality Audio with Fabric and Lessons Learned from Developing a Plugin for Unity3D
The talk will focus on a number of audio production techniques and how these can be achieved using Fabric's extensive audio feature set in order to deliver a high quality and immersive audio experience.
Taz will also share his experience of developing an audio plugin and some of the lessons learned in getting the most out of Unity's existing audio support and Editor UI.
Biography
Anastasios Brakis (aka Taz) is an audio developer and owner of Tazman-Audio. He first got the audio bug when he listened to the music of "Shadow Of The Beast" on the Amiga. Having graduated from York's Music Technology Msc in the late 90s, the opportunity to turn his hobby into a full time job came when he joined Studio 33 in Liverpool.
Since then he has worked as an audio programmer and sound designer for a number of studios including Lionhead, Climax, Black Rock, Studio Gobo and non game developers such as Yamaha and Zero-g.
He is also the developer behind the Fabric audio toolset which has been used in a number of high profile games from indies and big studios.

Please arrive at 7pm for a 7.30pm start. For security reasons, you will need to RSVP to attend this talk. We'll aim to head to the pub at the top of the road (the St James Tavern) for about 9pm. This bit is optional!
After the success of our first meeting it would be great to keep the momentum going. The plan is to have a further session towards the end of November (the talk originally planned for earlier this month). More details to follow.
If you could take a few moments to fill in the polls I shall be adding shortly it will help me tailor future events to the needs of the group.
See you next week and please spread the word!
Thanks,
Nicola.
