Adhoc Lightning Talks

Hey All,

As you can probably tell everyone in the Brisbane JS community is still a little shell shocked from CampJS.  If you are wondering why, then see exhibit A:

A big thanks goes from myself (and others I'm sure) to Tim, Nigel and Geoff for putting in all the effort the did bringing the event together.  We are definitely going to meet Monday night and hang out, but rather than the normal scheduled talks it would be great if folks can get up and share about something they have done or learnt over the last little while.  The only rule is no sales pitches!

Feel free to either suggest your lightning talk in the comments below or just rock up on the night and surprise us all!

See you Monday!

Here's a Swiss army knife shell script I use for NodeJS development. Some bits are windows specific (like how I start up a browser) but I figure it might inspire you to hack your own version. Really speeds up my day.

Here's that application I mentioned that uses templates to generate a node project for you:

Also if anyone is interested in the RDF JSON serialization format you can find out more here:

For those interested in turning your node scripts into command line utilities this is where I found what I needed / showed last night.

Nigel, is there any chance you can share the CampJS keynote? I'd like to show the guys at the ABC and try to convince them to come to the next one!

The food in Jackpot is alright, but meeting like-minded people is awsome. hahaha. Thank you all for the talks.

Good to catch up. Re your question on data visualisation I would recommend coming along to one of the Jelly Sessions or Action Hack (next one is on 6/4/2013). I'm sure someone could point you in the right direction. http://www.brisjelly....

Thanks to all those who came along tonight, and a thanks especially to those brave enough to share. Quite a few new faces tonight - which was fantastic. Hope you all come along again :)

Additionally, I've just managed to finally stop the icy echo chamber effect too. While not ready for production use, it might start to be useful soon - feel free to check out the repo:

Constructive criticism and pull requests always welcome!
