The Trotting Crusaders Camping Trip (2 nights) Independence day weekend!

This time we will be celebrating Independence day with another camping trip, over the weekend! This will be a 3 day event. (We return home on the 4th of July.)

We will be going to Round Valley Reservoir, where our camping site will be on the waterfront. So make sure you bring out a swimsuit and towel, as you will be able to swim in this gorgeous Reservoir, while enjoying the view! Let’s not forget the joy of also being around the campfire and enjoying the grand view of the waterfront and land surrounding it!

We will have everyday filled with food cooked over the fire and our camp stove, also we have vegetarian options available to make for those who request it! Please note that you are free to bring anything additional for your own personal consumption or to share.

One of the hosts will be bringing a boat, which just adds to the activities we can do! So that brings us to the next section…

So to get to the campsite, you have two options.

Option 1 - Hiking the trail, 3 miles through the woods on the scenic venture.

Option 2 - Hop on for a ride on the boat (Pictured above) to the campsite

(There is no car access allowed, so it is either ride the boat to the site or hike to it.

Note: Two hosts will lead the group that wants to hike to the spot, while 1 host drives the boat and ferry everyone else to the campsite. If you ride the boat, you must help unload your luggage and other people's luggage and prepare to get wet, as we need to beach the boat.

Note 2: The boat can handle 5 people or 4 people with luggage at a time. So if more than 4 people want to use the boat to get to the campsite. Some will have to wait on shore for 30 minutes for the host to make a round trip to the campsite, to drop off people and luggage and come back.

So what do you need for this camping trip?

$30 (covers renting the camp ground, meals for all days and gas for transportation costs.)

A Backpack with your own gear…

Sleeping bag or pillow/covers.

Flashlight

Utensils (fork, spoons, knifes, paper towels)

Towel and swimsuit.

We will be providing the tents so we got you covered for that, unless you wish to bring your own to have your own personal space.

Directions

We will meet at the Elizabeth Train station at 9AM on Saturday morning. You can reach that train station via "NJ Transit" from 34th Street Penn Station and get off at "Elizabeth". The carpool will be waiting for you there and We will leave at 10 AM sharp! (It is your responsibility to check the train times and arrive before the carpool leaves.)

Alternatively, if you have access to your own car, you can carpool people from the meetup location or drive up to the place yourself and wait for the rest in the facility’s parking lot.

We will meetup in the SOUTH PARKING LOT Indicated by the Yellow circle (Shown Below) If you arrive early, please wait there before the toll booth and park, for the hosts to show up with the reservation paperwork to check everyone in.

NOTE: This site restricts 4 cars per "group", so it is important to us that we keep the amount of cars to 4, which is why we are car pooling as much as possible. (2 out of 4 slots filled) (The car pool has room for 11 people max)

The “Drivers and Campers Only” Parking lot is where we all will park our vehicles and also where we will launch our boat.
