Are you more interested in hands-on or discussions/talks?

It's been shown many times that hands-on learning is most effective. That's my preferred way to engage a new subject.

Do you have a biohacking project you want to pursue?

Currently I am using DNA barcoding to catalog plants of the Alaskan tundra.

I'm a molecular biologist turned biohacker. In 2009 I co-founded Genspace, the world's first community biolab, in Brooklyn NY. I believe that democratization of biotech will result in better public understanding of it and jumpstart innovation.

What Ellen J. is saying about this Meetup Group

I was really impressed with how congenial the group was, and how late we ended up hanging out and talking because we were having such a good time.
