This group will hopefully serve to attract people interested in bike building and riding (and hopefully ride what you build). There are ALOT of people out there who can build cooler bikes than me, but its my nature to share, teach and collaborate...(in addition to my day job as an architect, I teach design at Pratt) I am hoping that this would be a great way to contribute to NYC's rich cycling heritage. Focusing on but not limited to fixed gear/single-speed builds

I hope this becomes a resource for information, tools, techniques, rides etc. If someone sees something useful on ebay/Craigs list, they could flash it around to the group...collaboration is a powerful thing, I hope we can use teh message boards to their fullest.

What members are saying

Learns basics of bike mechanics, see if building up a single speed from parts is something you want to try.

Seems like a great way to learn about all aspects of bike building and maintenance.

“I just started cycling and I love it. I want to improve my ride and learn how to fix and take care of my own bike. I'm a designer and if I could actually learn to build my own bike that would be really amazing.”
