Come to a Buffalo Writers Meetup* to get constructive feedback on your work, discuss the writing life, trade literary tips, and enjoy some creative chat. We offer weeknight Meetups for busy writers.
All writers are welcome! The format for the Meetups is simple: If there are new members, we do brief introductions all around the table. Then anyone who wishes may read aloud from their work and solicit feedback. It's a relaxing, fun and supportive environment. We ask writers to read their work aloud, and it's helpful if you post your piece in the week of the meeting, so attendees can read ahead if they choose, allowing for more thoughtful feedback. Links for posting are in the description box of each event.
We also encourage members to use our discussion forums-- there are boards for general discussion, publishing talk, and more; plus, boards dedicated to self-promotion among the membership. No one outside the group can read our boards or files. Discuss the writing life freely! We have found that being active within the group, whether you have anything to share yet or no, is a great way to jump-start good writing habits and find inspiration to pursue your writing work.
Donations to support the cost of Meetup are happily accepted by your organizers at any in-person meeting or event, or through Paypal using Mari's email address.
