We have an urgent request for a foster caregiver for a local dachshund whose owner had a very bad accident and can no longer care for her.
These folks are desperate to find a good foster home for Lili. Her owner Jim had a cerebral hemrrahage when he fell down the stairs in his home.
Lili is his life - he still is not able to ask questions (thank goodness) as no doubt the 1st words out of his mouth will be how is Lili. The superviser at the SPCA graciously agreed to keep her for 2 weeks since Jim's family lives so far away and have FIVE Pekingese. Introducing Lili to their herd would not be feasable, she needs a foster home full of love and understanding.
She was VERY spoiled, she lived in his arms, slept in his bed so she is totally lost, confused and traumatized by the events of the last 2 weeks.
Amy Lewis, the SPCA superviser in Kenmore NY said she is Hyper Bonding and might need retraining (not uncommon in small breeds). They are having no problems with her and she wags her tail and leaps into the arms of the dog walker when the cage is opened. Lili has not been exposed to kids or other dogs as Jim lived a solitary life with his beloved Lili.
Please ANY suggestion any assistance you can provide so they do not loose the love of his life. Jim's family is desperate..................
Thank you so so much for listening!

This is a group for monthly play dates and events so that our dachshunds can meet, run around and play off leash in a fenced in dog park or indoor play area.
We support the rescue and adoption of dachshunds that need a foster home or a "forever home", and try to spread the message of the option of rescue and current rescue opportunities as often as possible. This group is NOT FOR BREEDING OR FOR THE SALE OF PUPPIES. Posts that discuss breeding or selling of puppies will be immediately removed.
Longhaired, Smooth or Wirehaired; miniature or full-sized, all breeds of dachshunds and people are welcome!
