Indoor Climbing: Central Rock Watertown

Central Rock has recently opened a new climbing gym in Watertown.  It's pretty awesome and convenient to many of us in the Boston area, so I'll be establishing a recurring event here on Monday and Wednesday nights.  All experience levels are welcome.

Day Passes

- $18 Adult
- $14 Student/Military

* There are also 10 Day Pass punch cards for the price of 9 visits

Gear Rental

- $8 Full Package
- $5 Harness
- $5 Shoes
- $2 Chalk
- $2 Belay Device

* Monday is Ladies Night ($12 day passes/$5 rental package for the females)

Membership options and further details are available on the website.  You can also fill out a waiver online to save on paperwork when you arrive at the gym.

How to Find Us

I'll hang out by the entrance for a bit around 6:30 (in the area with the cubbies to the right of the front desk).  If you're a newcomer especially, I'd encourage you to gather there.  It's a big gym, so it can be a little challenging to find people.  If you plan to show up later, just leave a comment and I'm sure we can figure something out.

I'll probably be late, how do I find the group?

I am tentatively cancelling due to weather. The climbing may be indoors, but I have to bike to get there. Next week?

For the newcomers -- I should be there around 6:30 and will hang out near the front desk for a bit. I'll be wearing a light gray J.P. Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge t-shirt (lots of sponsors on the back) and black shorts. I have a red chalk bag and climbing shoes. Keep an eye out for me and I'll introduce you to the rest of the group.

I will join one of the days even though the high really scares me. A LOT!

Belaying skills are way more important than climbing skills.

Again, I'll be hoping to find you guys as well. I'm a beginner in climbing and belaying, but I'm fine just watching and practicing a bit as well!

Can't make it, strained my calf the other day during a workout, so I am in RICE mode right now.

    Have fun!
