Collaborate to Innovate is community of people taking action on the things they care about.

This month we're talking coworking. Coworking is a new way of working together. It's a coming together of people that would otherwise be working apart, to share space, share conversations, and collaborate to drive innovative new initiatives. Coworking is making us sit back and rethink the ways that we work together, spend time together, and even how we learn (http://www.deskmag.com/en/will-coworking-spaces-be-the-new-classrooms-university-school-686).

Coworking has only really developed in the last few years, especially in Australia, but it's a trend that's growing rapidly. The number of coworking spaces globally has passed 1800 and is nearly doubling each year (http://www.deskmag.com/en/1800-coworking-spaces-worldwide-700-in-the-us-survey). Adelaide seems to have reached a tipping point - from one or two spaces in operation in 2012, a small handful now, and dozens appearing on the radar to open in the coming year or two. If you know what to listen for, you can hear the space buzzing...

This month, we have a panel of Australian coworking leaders who epitomise what our group is about. Come to learn from their experience with initiatives that

are creating thriving communities and sustainable businesses at the same time foster collaboration and innovation are solving problems these founders are passionate about

We're hosted this month by Adelaide's biggest coworking space, Majoran Distillery - as always, offering their time and assets to support the community. Your ticket price covers a complimentary beverage and helps the Distillery cover their costs.

Our food for thought for this month:

who do you want to work with? Who could help you take action on the things you care about?

We're excited about hearing from these champions and expect it to inspire a really high energy event. It would be great to have you as part of that conversation.

Cheers,

John, Michelle, Eduardo, Wade and the rest of the extended C2I family

Our illustrious panelists

Michael Reid (@mlr_ca (http://twitter.com/mlr_ca)) - co-founder, Majoran Distillery

Majoran Distillery (http://majorandistillery.com/) is a space for digital entrepreneurs in the centre of Adelaide, which aims to level up Adelaide's startup ecosystem. Founded in 2012 (by Michael, Chhai (http://twitter.com/chhai), and William (http://twitter.com/illuzn)), it's now Adelaide's biggest and most thriving coworking space, a hub of the startup community, and have reached break even in an upsided new space in under 12 months of operation.

Michael is an accountant by trade, an entrepreneur at heart, and is passionate about Adelaide's startup community, and enabling members of the Majoran community to 'level up'.

Caroline McLaren (@CarolineMcLaren (http://twitter.com/carolinemclaren)) - Hub Sydney Activator

Caroline is a social entrepreneur, who's lived and worked in the social innovation communities in Melbourne and Sydney, and is now charged with activating Hub Sydney.

Hub Sydney is part of a global network (http://www.the-hub.net/) of coworking spaces for social innovators, built on creating sustainable innovation through collaboration. Hub is where change goes to work. Hub Sydney will be Australia's second Hub - after Hub Melbourne (http://hubmelbourne.com/), which now has more than 700 members, and which drives innovation through collaboration across diverse sectors, disciplines and generations.

We're chuffed to have Caroline over from Sydney. Do please make her feel welcome.

Rob de Kok (@ his website (http://co-west.com.au/aboutus.html)), Co-West

Rob has written, taught and appreciated the value of community for years. After renting a desk at artists' studio Tooth and Nail (http://www.toothandnail.net.au/) to do his writing, Rob decided there should be a 'safe-fail' space for those that paint with words. Instead of sitting on his laurels, Rob up and did it, and some substantial amount of sweat, elbow grease and friends' help later, Co-West (http://co-west.com.au/)'s doors are open for the people of Adelaide.
