Beers and Bitcoins

Let's meetup over a few beers & chat about bitcoins from an Entrepreneur's and techie's perspective.

This is a join social with some Lean Startup Cambridge folk. (

Come network, share a beer and chat about bitcoins, everything from how to accept payments, how to mine coin, how it all actually works? (how much does it cost to mine a coin) ...building custom bitcoin miners, mining coins in tupelspace, ...cost of mining, ethics, you name it, if it's coin related, come and have a casual laugh or deep discussion, you never know what great ideas might bubble out from an evening with great minds, great beer, great discussions.

p.s. we have a mystery entity interested in supporting this evening, and we might be announcing details for the Cambridge Bitcoin user group...maybe! #teaser #camcoin ;-D

Rick Hamelton said; "Excellent discussions - if we accept that the bitcoin protocol works like TCP/IP then I believe that the killer app will be found in building upon that layer. I encourage you all to have a thorough read of the bitcoin wiki particularly the bit about contracts: and see if we can direct our discussions into fresh fertile ground."

Interesting subject and I would have loved to come but I'm going to the Panto instead. Oh no he isn't, Oh yes he is....

Might be a few minutes late. Shouldn't we be going to the Devonshire Arms as they (apparently) accept bitcoins...?

They do, as does the Haymakers, which should have space on a Monday night:

I don't mind - I'll let you decide what to do Alan. I suppose ultimately numbers may be the biggest factor. The Devonshire is smaller (I think), and the Haymakers is the other side of town. It is a Monday night though so guessing shouldn't be that bad. Happy with whatever.

Sadly won't be able to make this one as I'll be back home for Christmas by then. Should be an interesting evening.
