Phoenix Police Department raids of collectives, compassion clubs and individuals, throughout the valley, have been steady and increasingly more harassing and destructive to the community. Governor Jan Brewer and AG Tom Horne, have made their opinions about medical marijuana clear.
Join our rally of medical marijuana patients, caregivers and supporters as we demand HANDS OFF our Natural Medicine. We are requesting confirmation from the Phoenix Police Chief that ALL Phoenix police officers, at ALL levels, have taken the AZPOST training (every state has a "Peace Officers Standards & Training" agency that provides training for all newly-enacted laws). Our officers should be working to protect patients, caregivers and their families instead of wreaking havoc and destruction throughout our community. The Soccer Mom story is one that chilled the community and brought many together in support of these compassionate folks who produced mild tinctures and candies specifically to help certain qualifying health ailments. They were raided and had their medicine (the medicated candies and tinctures) wrongly categorized by the Phoenix Police Dept as narcotics. They are still pending litigation. One recent Phoenix raid victim and disabled Vet reports he felt horrified and humiliated as officers attempted to force him to walk without his DME crutches which help him walk. “The mocked and teased me!” says David H. He did not find the humor in his poor treatment or the unfair targeting of his Restored by Faith Club. The list goes on.
Yes, Governor Jan Brewer and AG Tom Horne, have made their opinions about medical marijuana clear. Despite the fact that medical marijuana has passed 3 times in the state of Arizona, they will do all they can to thwart the will of the people and satisfy their special interests (the prison industry). The Phoenix Police Department is merely following their wishes. The Phoenix Police should not be wasting our precious law enforcement resources for the fear and intimidation game of our elected officials. First and foremost they should be educated about the law.
