Naperville Adults with Asperger's 18+

Details

This is a group of adults with Asperger’s Syndrome that meet to discuss the challenges of living with Asperger’s and also to support one other in any way that we can. Anyone 18 or older is welcome.

The group typically meets the first Thursday of every month from 7-9pm.

Jill Holman runs the adult support group during the months of October, December, February and April. Parents, spouses, etc. will meet in a separate room simultaneously with the Aspie Adults (per request of the Aspie adults). Both groups run from 7-9pm. Please contact Jill at holmanjill@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Jill Holman, a mother of a 20 year old with Asperger’s also runs the Naperville Asperger’s Parent Support Group. The group started meeting in February of 2006.

The other months the group will elect a group moderator when meeting. This will be done at the beginning of group. The moderator will help direct group conversation so no one person is monopolizing the groups time, make sure everyone is being respected in the group while talking, have an order so everyone can talk in turn, and make sure the room is put back how the room was found. I would suggest that the group continue doing introductions. If there is any situation that cannot be resolved by the group please see Jill Holman if she is leading the parents group that evening.

While RSVPs are welcome and appreciated, they are not required for this particular group. Anyone is welcome to attend if they think they would benefit from meeting with this group. People show up who don't RSVP, so the RSVP count is not an accurate measure of attendance. Please enter the church through the doors that face Catalpa Lane. If the lots are full, church parking is in the shopping center parking lot across the street.
