Creative Writing Session: Find Your Voice, Style & Learn the Art of Description

Details

Date: March 10, 2012, Saturday

Time: 1-4pm

Place: Los Angeles Public Library – Harbor Gateway Branch

What To Bring:

  1. Notebook/Journal/Pad Paper for the writing exercises
  2. Writing instrument of choice. Bring whatever will get your creative juices flowing--whether it be a pencil, a special pen, a quill or colored markers.

One of the greatest challenges we have as writers is to develop a writing voice and style that is engaging, interesting and uniquely our own.

Whether you're writing Picture Books, Chapter Books, Middle Grade or Young Adult Novels, it is important not only to discover that writing voice and style, but also to learn the art of proper description.

This session will be dedicated to learning various techniques & writing exercises designed to help hone your writing skills, and to help you find your Writing Voice, and Style.

You will also be learning certain techniques to help you excel in the art of description.
