Theoretical Thursday Discussion Gro?

Just a reminder to everyone that tonight (6/10/10) at 7:00PM is the first of what is hopefully many to come, Theoretical Thursday Discussion Group sessions. Kyle Sanders will be hosting so here is the info from Kyle S. and hope to see you guys there:

Janet F. Harte Public Library

2629 Waldron Rd
Corpus Christi, TX 78418

These meetups will feature a lightning talks format where speakers will be given five minutes to present an idea or theme which will then be opened up for discussion. Responses will be limited to 1-2 minutes, and discussion will continue to fill out the half hour or until reasonable. There will be a talking conch.

Current Proposed Topics:
Ronin: Left vs. Right Brain Hemispheres
Lyle: How Toxic Gasses Can Be Healthy
Kyle (time permitting): Why Gravity Is False (defending science theory)

Special Guests:
Mike and Rob from the Corpus Christi Humanists discussion group will be presenting Humanism 101, for anyone expressing interest or skepticism about this branch of Atheism. Rob is fresh from an American Humanist Association convention with some goodies and handouts. For those who have no idea what humanism is, here is the opening statement from their website: "We strive to bring about a progressive society where being 'good without god' is an accepted way to live life."

I just bumped us up to the bigger conference room, so there will be plenty of space!
