Event 707: Swiss Card Games at Caribou Coffee in Westlake

As always, we are happy to teach new players, so if you do not yet know any of these games, come on out and learn. Nearly everyone in the group learned these games after joining the group, so you are definitely not alone!

To date, we have learned a total of five Swiss card games:

  • Handjass (2-4 players)
  • Schieber Jass (4 players)
  • Troggu (3-8 players)
  • Mittlere Jass (3 players)
  • Coiffeur-Schieber Jass (3 or 4 players)

Today we will play whichever of them fits our number of attendees and/or is in most demand. There is always the possibility of playing more than one!

It was good to see everyone and have a great evening of playing cards.

Lots of laughter, which is almost always true, and which is always a good thing! Good to have Andrew and Sandra back with us again, and Karen, thank you for driving out to see us! Always a pleasure. It was a Jass'n night tonight, with my table Schiebering and the other Molotowing and Mitlering, and being very noisy about it. LOL

Great to see everyone's smiling faces! Great time even though we couldn't keep a single rule in our heads all night. LOL When all else fails: LAUGH!

We may have 1 new player tonight (Barbara). Not sure yet. If we stay at 9, my suggestion is to break into groups of 3 and play either Mittlere, or Coiffeur Jass. Or we can break into a 4 and a 5, the 4 playing Schieber and the 5 playing Molotow with dealer sitting out.

If we do see our new player tonight, I suggest the 4 and 5 split described above, with me and Barbara playing the same seat. I prefer it be a table of Schieber, since Molotow or Mittlere may be a bit too extreme, LOL.

We will play it by ear, but think about what you'd like to play before you go tonight.

Normally, I don't RSVP until day of or until I get to the particular CCGP Thursday game itself, since I cannot be sure 100% and/or I like the surprise element. =) However, I guess advanced warning might prompt folks to come out to come heckle me... maybe? I should be there unless flights back to CLE Thursday gets majorly delayed or cancelled, e.g. inclement weather.
