Science & Philosophy Book Club- IT’S BACK!

Details

This Month's Book: Magic or Medicine?: An Investigation Of Healing and Healers By: Dr. Robert Buckman and Karl Sabbagh

Dedicated to providing a friendly, free-thinking environment in which to discuss books that inspire rewarding conversation on subjects related to science and philosophy.

Join 'Pagemaster' Christine Gangon to discuss this month's book concerning the clash of alternative and Western Medicine.

The authors evaluate alternative and allopathic approaches to patient care, examining the nature of the relationship between patients and practitioners. Drawing on early medical sources and on their own investigations into alternative therapies, they argue that healing has always been part science and part art, and suggest that magic and medicine are essential components of every healer-patient contact.

Christine Gagnon RMT is a health care professional working in Toronto. Her interests include science, architecture and the economy.
