If you are seeking funding for your invention, save the date of Saturday, June 8, to learn more about the latest wave of product development funding called crowd funding. Speaking will be Cary Harwin, President and Cofounder of FundaGeek whose presentation will focus on Crowdfunding for Inventors and the status of equity based crowdfunding efforts. Crowd funding is a rapidly emerging phenomenon that combines small online contributions (“micropledges”) from many individuals who want to support unique products being developed by innovative people.
Cary founded and ran a financial management firm in the 60's and 70's with offices in California and Florida. During those years he consulted with hundreds of aspiring entrepreneurs and aided many in founding and building successful companies. Since the early 80's, Cary has founded several software publishing companies. He brings several decades of experience in successfully developing, publishing and managing the marketing and sales efforts behind many different software products. In 2010 when Cary became aware of Crowdfunding, he recognized how this new financing vehicle could empower creators of innovative new products/services with the means of obtaining the necessary funding to bring their ideas to a reality. With a friend and associate in the software industry, Cary co-founded FundaGeek.
The seminar will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the CIBOLA Tech Incubator. Go to www.chicago-inventors.org or call[masked] or e-mail us at [masked] to learn more about the Chicago Inventors Organization.
