This isn't your typical user group meeting. There are already Service-now user group meetings that occur, and these have a valid purpose. This is not a replacement of those meetings. This developer group is much more than that. This is a gathering of Developers only. If you come to the meeting, bring your laptop and plan on writing code. This is not intended for casual users, administrators, or management. Plan to get your hands dirty and talk Glide (if you don't know what Glide is, that's your first sign that this isn't for you)

The basic idea is that we will each bring with us problems, challenges, or simply ideas on things to build in Service-now. These are things that we are trying to do at our own organizations. We want to fully utilize the platform capabilities of Service-now to expand the traditional use. Everyone will present to the group, we will then collaborate on possible design considerations. Once a design has been decided, we open our laptops and build. We will either divide up portions, or work together. The actual build portion of this is flexible, agile, and will change from meeting to meeting. The principle here is to create a development team that can help each other out.

At the end of the meeting, the goal is to have either a fully formed solution, or a good chunk of it built so that you can go back to your organization and finish it up.

Some assumptions about these meetings:

1. No Powerpoint allowed (or Keynote or any other presentation software)
2. No sales pitches by anyone (vendors, consultants, even service-now.com)
3. Developers only
4. Small and focused group
5. Open and transparent

The location of the meeting will be determined once we have a group established.
