CPH Data Drinks 2.0

I think we can agree that Data Drinks 1.0 was a complete success. Let's make 2.0 even better. Spread the word.

This time, we will try beginning the meeting with a few lightening talks, 5 minutes each.

Cathrine Lippert will talk about the Godd Basic Data For Everyone initiative (the new Danish declaration about open data).

Kim Søvnsø will talk about initiatives in the municipality of Copenhagen.

Wishing you lots of fun tonight! Can I suggest you use a hashtag for the event on Twitter? Makes it easier for me to follow from afar :) #odcph or #datadrinks or something?

Already using #cphdd (at Ton's own suggestion) - see http://digitaliser.dk... banner on left-hand side of page.

#cphdd it is then! :) I had forgotten my own suggestion from last month...

Maybe possible to bring camera and shoot video - good or bad idea?

I see the point about keeping the lightning talks informal and for that reason not film them. But as a open data interested person in Aarhus, I personally think it would be a great opportunity for us who's not able to attend the meetups in Cph to follow the talks a bit anyway - and thereby know a bit of what's going on in Cph relating to open data.

Like the idea of a small video, catching some of the Data Drink atmosphere. Hope I will be able to drop by with a cam.

Which lightening talks to expect tonight?

Erdem has re-considered and will not speak at this event - but perhaps at a later event. But Kim and Cathrine will speak.

Thanks. Hope I am able to escape work and be there. Something came up...

Good idea - as long as you ask people's permission to film them.

I'm curious about the new danish declaration about public data that will be made available by 2014. What is included, and what significance does it have? Also, I'd be happy to present Wedecide.com if you guys find it interesting. Perhaps the data we gather could be interesting to some of you, we would be happy to collaborate.

More info on the Danish plans at http://epsiplatform.e... I am sure Cathrine Lippert or Morten Lind are able to explain in a few minutes what is planned and why it is important!

Looking at this and re-evaluating - I don't think I should speak of Wedecide - we don't (yet) have the kind of data that would make people here really excited..

I can perhaps give a short update on our thoughts and roadmap for opening up to a lot of the data we have in the Municipality of Copenhagen?

I would love to hear that. Just very short, 5-7 min.

Dear all. If anyone is into "small" data - our next meeting at QSCPH is the 6. of november. You are all more than welcome: http://www.meetup.com/Quantifie...

Lightning talks are great. Do try to keep the lightning talks non-tech, the aim of Data Drinks is to be a low-threshold entry point for all open data interested people: details are great for conversation afterwards. If there grows a need for 'bigger presentations' keep them slightly separate from the Data Drinks part (or if the need grows even more, spin it off into an additional event). Limit the number of lightning talks to 3. It's enough to spark discussion, and short enough to prevent turning everybody else into 'the audience'. Be VERY strict in sticking to 5 minutes per speaker.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
