World Wide Open Data Day

On Saturday 23 February the third edition of the International Open Data Day will take place in cities around the world. This initiator David Eaves announced on GovLoop (http://www.govloop.com/profiles/blogs/international-open-data-day-an-update).

As in December 2010 and December 2011 local groups in many cities will spend the day working on open data and open data applications. The event aims to not just build open data applications, but also to build the international open data community and extend existing applications to other locations.

Originally David Eaves, open data activist and open government consultant from Canada, initiated the 2010 Open Data Day expecting a handful of cities to join. That first year over 60 cities organized local activities, across the globe. In 2011 the only missing continent in 2010 also saw local teams joining, in Australia. This year the event has been moved from December 2012 to February 2013. Again it is expected that dozens of cities worldwide will join in the effort.
Let's get a group together on 23 February and hack on open data! Who will join in organizing this?
