What might be seen as an adjunct to 'CSR and Leadership', which was the topic of our May Meetup, is the important issue of NGO and Corporate Partnerships. Hence CSR Meetup London is very pleased to announce that James Cole, who leads Friends of the Earth's business engagement work in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will give a presentation on this topic at our June Meetup.
James will give a brief over-view of the range of NGO partnerships 'out there' before moving into a focus on Friends of the Earth as an example of an NGO that actively considers and engages in corporate partnerships but is extremely sensitive about what they are and what the governing principles, parameters and constraints need to be. That can include a couple of examples of where they partnered with the private sector including a summary of what brought the two sides together, how they worked jointly and what each side looked to get out of the relationship.
James spent 5 years working as a commercial manager at Vodafone UK where he managed strategic relationships, indirect sales channels and corporate accounts before having his interest in sustainability reignited. Since then he has worked in Spain and Peru setting up sustainable agriculture projects and completed a Masters in Sustainable Development with forum for the future. He has an agriculture & business-related first degree and is interested in cycling, running, travel and anything that gets him outdoors.
We will be at our normal venue (see below for details) and as usual, a cash bar will be available. Space is limited so if you genuinely intend to come, please sign up quickly and if you subsequently find that you aren’t able to make it, please change your RSVP status as soon as possible so as to allow availability to those who might be on a waiting list.
