Insurance and Risk Management Questions Answered! @ CSUF Startup Incubator

Maybe you're starting a business or have already launched but you still have questions. Do I have the right coverage? What kinds of insurance do I need? What risks am I not seeing in this contract? What even is risk management?

In comes CSUF Entrepreneurship mentor, donor, guest professor Jerry Conrey. He is the founder of Conrey Insurance Brokers & Risk Managers and he has worked with a ton of businesses throughout his career, including many CSUF alumni and even some of the Residents at the CSUF Startup Incubator.

I am the owner of Conrey Insurance Brokers and Risk Managers. We have been a part of the vital business community of Tustin CA since 1969. I aquired the brokerage in late 2001. We proudly represent the largest insurance carriers available to independent agents and brokers for the needs of both businesses and individuals.

I personally focus on the needs of businesses, and my niche industries that I have expertise include manufacturing, commercial real estate, wholesale distributing, professionals of all kinds, and technology services.

I also offer risk management consulting and expert witness services in the areas of insurance agency management and insurance transactional concerns.

My agency also offers robust and relevant employee benefit services to the employer and financial services to both the individual and business.

Our continuing goal is to grow our organization fincnially and in relevance to the communities we serve, without compromising our quality, service or protection in doing so.

Release of Liability

In consideration for being allowed to participate in this Activity, on behalf of myself and my next of kin, heirs and representatives, I release from all liability and promise not to sue the State of California; the Trustees of The California State University; California State University, Fullerton; CSU Fullerton Auxiliary Services Corporation and their respective employees, officers, directors, volunteers and agents (collectively "University") from any and all claims, including claims of the University's negligence, resulting in any physical or psychological injury (including paralysis and death), illness, damages, or economic or emotional loss I may suffer because of my participation in this Activity, including travel to, from and during the Activity.

I am voluntarily participating in this Activity. I am aware of the risks associated with traveling to/from and participating in tis Activity, which include but are not limited to physical or psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, temporary or permanent disability (including paralysis), economic or emotional loss, and/or death. I understand that these injuries or outcomes may arise from my own or other's actions, inaction, or negligence; conditions related to travel; or the condition of the Activity location(s). Nonetheless, I assume all related risks, both known or unknown to me, of my participation in this Activity, including travel to, from and during the Activity.

I agree to hold the University harmless from any and all claims, including attorney's fees or damage to my personal property that may occur as a result of my participation in this Activity, including travel to, from and during the Activity. If the University incurs any of these types of expenses, I agree to reimburse the University. If I need medical treatment, I agree to be financially responsible for any costs incurred as a result of such treatment. I am aware and understand that I should carry my own health insurance.

I agree that for good and valuable consideration, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I consent to the use of my quotes, as heard at Activity of myself and the recording of my voice, video image and the use of these recordings singularly or in conjunction with other photographs and/or recordings for inclusion videos created and distributed by University.

I hereby release University, and any of its associated or affiliated companies, their directors, officers, agents, employees, customers, and appointed advertising agencies, their directors, officers, agents, and employees from all claims of every kind on account of such use.

I am 18 years or older or I have received consent from my parent or legal guardian and I understand the legal consequences of attending the Activity, including (a) releasing the University from all liability, (b) promising not to sue the university, (c) and assuming all risks of participating in this Activity, including travel to, from and during the Activity.

I understand that this Release of Liability form is written to be as broad and inclusive as legally permitted by the State of California. I agree that if any portion is held invalid or unenforceable, I will continue to be bound by the remaining terms.

I have read this Release of Liability form and my attendance of this Activity is my acceptance of this Release of Liability's terms and conditions. No other representations concerning the legal effects of this release of liability have been made to me.
