Stamford, CT — This Wednesday, October 28, Rolf Maurer addresses the environmentally conscious crowd at Stamford Green Drinks.
Stamford Green Drinks meets the fourth Wednesday of every month at the Stamford Marriott and provides an opportunity to discuss sustainability and environmental issues in a friendly and casual setting.
This Wednesday, Rolf Maurer, Green party candidate for Mayor, will be the featured speaker. A former Associate Editor with Folio: magazine, Rolf Maurer has collectively spent eight years working in trade and directory publishing, and, as former co-chair of the Unitarian Universalist Society in Stamford's Civil Liberties Action Committee, organized a series of lectures and panel discussions on the PATRIOT Act and related topics. He has relied completely on mass and minor transit since 1999.
“Given today's dramatic climatic and economic challenges, a more interconnected, holistic direction for the city is worth pursuing--one that supports homegrown commerce that creates local employment opportunities right here (without dollars leaving town), invigorates a sense of community through more publicly-mediated activities, increases urban agriculture and enhanced public transportation options--incorporating a bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly infrastructure” said Maurer.
Stamford Green Drinks is held between 6-8 p.m. in the Northern Lights Bar and Lounge, located in the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa, located at 243 Tresser Blvd. Organic beverages are available for purchase. No admission charged and parking is free for all who attend. Mr. Maurer will address the group from 7:00-7:10 and will be available for questions until 8:00.
